What’s fallen about Michael Jackson?
In 2005 Prosecutors had charged the singer with four counts of lewd conduct with a child younger than 14; one count of attempted lewd conduct; four counts of administering alcohol to facilitate child molestation; and one count of conspiracy to commit child abduction, false imprisonment or extortion.
Jackson not only faced his accusers, but beat them.
Doesn’t sound like he’s “fallen” to me.
In 2008, he released Thriller 25. It is regarded a commercial success. It peaked at number one in eight countries and Europe. It peaked at number two in the United States, number three in the United Kingdom and reached the top ten in over thirty national charts. Thriller 25 spent three weeks at number one in France and two weeks at number one in Belgium.
It has been certified gold in eleven countries, including the UK.
In the United States, Thriller 25 was the second best-selling album of its release week, selling one hundred and sixty six thousand copies, just fourteen thousand short of reaching the number one position. It was ineligible for the Billboard 200 chart as a re-release but entered the Pop Catalog Charts at number one (where it stayed for ten non-consecutive weeks),[33] with the best sales on that chart since December, 1996.
Now, in his death it is being reported that his merchandise sales could eclipse those of Presley or Monroe. On amazon.co.uk the late superstar had the top 14 albums, with a special edition reissue of Off the Wall in first place.
I could go on but… .
